Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri at Rolla) was founded in 1870 as the first public technological university west of the Mississippi River. The university offers a wide variety of academic programs infused with a technological perspective. Its 284-acre campus is located in Rolla, 100 miles southwest of St. Louis.
