Can a US citizen student get financial assistance / scholarship . And if yes, how can one be eligible for such assistance.
Asked by Lauri from Maryland
I know you all probably get this a lot, but what are my chances of getting in with a 4.2 GPA and a 1380 SAT (hopefully I'll do better the next time) if I'm thinking of applying to Mechanical or Aerospace engineering at this school?

My son is considering going to Virginia Tech to major in computer science. Can any current students or recent alumni comment about the class sizes and connection between professors and students in these classes? (Are there 100 students in a lecture hall or 30?) Thank you!
Asked by Sandy from NJ
Hi, I am a current student at VT. I am not a CS major so I can't speak specifically to any of those classes. However, I can attest to my own experiences. The largest classes I have had maxed out at around 250, but I have only had about 3 classes that size. The rest of my classes had between 20-50 people. As for student-teacher connection, it depends on the professor but in general most professors are more than willing to make a connection with you and help you in any way they can. Almost all professors will try to make accommodations around their office hours to try and help you achieve your goals, and most are willing to form friendly relationships. Hope this helps!
