Texas A&M University--Commerce User Reviews and Ratings
A University of Choice!
By TRC/Class of 1970, From Plano, Texas
As an alum of TAMUC and over thirty years as a senior manager for the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) I was responsible for evaluating numerous institutions of higher education throughout the United States. Those evaluations, over a three decade period, indicated that the education I received at TAMUC prepared me for myriad responsibilities that were instrumental in conducting highly sensitive and far reaching investigations into all facets of institutions located throughout the United States. This included the competitive examinations to obtain a Federal professional position, subsequent successful application for promotional consideration/selection and the ability to adjust to frequently changing regulatory mandates from Washington D.C. The comprehensive education I received at TAMUC provided insight, flexibility and sustained preparation for changing political and administrative initiatives in a regulatory framework that was often met with investigative challenges, opposition to Federal authority and frequent hostile work environment common to enforcement of civil rights laws and regulations. After years in high level Federal administrative work, I was consistently prepared to effectively discharge the myriad responsibilities placed upon my in large part because of the superlative preparation that I received while a student at TAMUC.
