We are an international, bilingual primary school (2yrs-11), where children follow the bilingual education in two of: English - French - Dutch. Our school is located on the beautiful National Heritage farm of Hof te Oudevoorde, in Tervuren and from the first Earliest Years, the academic programme includes outdoor forest school and farm school classes that blend seamlessly with the active learning aspect of the academic programme. Children’s needs are at the heart of all we aim to do and providing outstanding pastoral care is paramount. The joy of learning and developing as bilinguals, the fun of childhood exploration and caring for others and the environment are central to all we do. We aim to provide warm school community where every child is encouraged to do their best, be a part of the local community and to engage pro-actively with the wider world. We warmly welcome both local and international children between the ages of 2-11 to join either our English/Dutch or English/French or Dutch/French dual language programmes. The primary school prepares pupils for entry into local or international schools (in English, Dutch or French), giving them a wonderful head start as bilingual language learners. It will also, on request, prepare students for Common Entrance and scholarship exams for British public schools. With our focus on the ecology of childhood and the development of the 'whole child', it goes without saying that character-building and the creation self-confidence run though The Courtyard's DNA. We are only 15-20 minutes from the Brussels EU Commission sites, NATO, Leuven and Waterloo, yet it feels like we're in the heart of the rolling countryside, surrounded as we are by fresh air, rolling meadows, abundant wildlife and farm animals. We are also situated on the edge of the UNESCO Sonian Forest and by the Park of Tervuren (https://www.natuurenbos.be/parktervuren) with all the resources that they offer creative teachers and students.
