Is kansas state university one of the best university that offers computer science in the us
Asked by Alfred from Indiana
What was the original purpose of the school? what is K-state known for?
Asked by Jorge from Kansas City, Kansas
K-State is a Land Grant University. That is to say, it was created by an act of the federal government with the express purpose of teaching the agricultural sciences and engineering. Today, the mission is still prevalent. The agricultural/soil sciences are a huge component of the university, along with engineering. K-State is highly ranked in the agricultural sciences (~50th worldwide and 6th nationally, depending on the metric) and has perhaps the only Mill Science program in the US.
